The two pandemic years have left clear traces. At German X-ray Congress and ECR, as well as at smaller congresses, there was a significant drop in the number of trade visitors. One can only speculate about the "why". Was it a general trend towards digital formats, difficulties in travel or the still tense economic situation - the reasons cannot yet be conclusively assessed. Initial reactions from the industry are already visible: industrial exhibitions are recording significantly fewer exhibitors. Many companies tended to participate in the virtual format.
At the same time, it cannot be denied that both exhibitors and the public are missing something crucial: personal contact. Even hybrid events, i.e., events that take place both live and online, do not create the experience and the intensive exchange that a trade show or a congress can in presence.
Cooperation with external experts will be continued
We cannot look into the future. What we can do, however, is to further expand our participation in scientific formats and to establish cooperations with speakers and scientific advisors. After our very successful debut in September 2021 at the digital German X-ray Congress, we participated in 2022 with a total of five events (four on-site workshops/one digital). The third industry symposium with Alex Riemer on May 11, 2022 was very well received. The digital session about “the update on contrast injection in CT” was attended by both MTRAs and aspiring specialists. The successful collaboration with Alex Riemer as an external expert speaker has shown us how we can offer potential customers added value beyond our products.
MEDTRON remains present
In the B2B sector, on-site participation in trade fairs is still an unbeatable platform for initiating new projects and expanding networks. We continue to rely on personal contact with medical equipment manufacturers, the trade press and users of our injectors. For us, this is still the best way. This is the only way we can find out more about the requirements for our products, so that we can develop and optimize them accordingly.
We also plan to participate in new international congresses and trade fairs, such as Africa Health or the Asian Oceanian Congress of Radiology.
Also well positioned digitally
We assume that hybrid and digital formats will become established. For this reason, we are continuing to expand our scientific offering of online workshops in collaboration with external experts. Our virtual showroom, where webinars are also held, is also well received. Since this year, MEDTRON AG is also actively represented in the social networks (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube) and also registers an increasing response here.
